Forest certification

Our Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC®) certification is your guarantee to responsible forest management and conservation. Tembec has one of the world’s largest FSC-certified forest products offering, which includes our FSC-certified Temcell High-Yield Pulp.

What began more than a decade ago now means that we have an ensured supply of FSC-certified wood fiber. Currently, the amount of forestlands in Canada directly managed by Tembec is nearly 9 million hectares (about 22 million acres), all of which is 100% FSC-certified. We also achieved FSC chain-of-custody certification, which provides a guarantee that any product with the FSC label can be tracked back to an FSC-certified source.

While our commitment to the standards of the Forest Stewardship Council (www.fsc.org) is an important part of Tembec's overall commitment to the environment and responsible forest management, we do realize and appreciate the importance of other forest certification schemes in the marketplace.

As such, Tembec also supplies Temcell High-Yield Pulp that use fiber from forests and suppliers that are PEFC (Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification) certified. PEFC chain-of-custody assures customers that fiber originates in PEFC certified operations, which follow responsible forest practices. For more information on PEFC, go to www.pefc.org.

When you purchase Temcell HYP, you support sustainability and our life-cycle stewardship approach, as well as the leadership performance of Temcell High-Yield Pulp and of Tembec as a company.
